Now available for on-demand viewing, a 1-hour webinar originally hosted on March 5 by Cabling Installation & Maintenance’s sibling brand Lightwave provides detailed information on microcables. Titled “Maximum Capacity, Minimal Footpring: The Unique Value Proposition of Microcable,” the webinar is sponsored by HFCL and delivered by that company’s senior product development engineer Henson Toland.

When describing the webinar and its content, Lightwave states, “The demand for increased fiber density in optical cables has made its way into the outside plant domain in North America. Microcables are seeing increased use throughout the network, from dense metropolitan trunks to rural FTTH distribution to drop cable applications.”

The webinar describes how and why microcables are designed to be installed efficiently via jetting into microducts. “Many factors need to be considered in the cable-selection process to ensure the final cable design is optimal for each specific end case,” HFCL added. “This webinar discusses the ins and outs of microcables—the application itself, the product features, and the newest additions to this ever-expanding cable family.”
