Xilica and AVer Team up for Voice-Based Camera Tracking

Feb. 2, 2024
Voice-based camera tracking is a popular solution that may prove useful in collaborative spaces.

Xilica and AVer recently announced a partnership to meet the increasing demand for voice-based Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera tracking functionality in medium and large collaboration spaces such as classrooms, conference rooms, etc.

The manufacturers have merged the control and monitoring of AVer’s VISCA-based PTZ camera range with Xilica’s room audio systems. This provides a simplified, drag-and-drop experience for system integrators who want to use AVer’s Pro AV cameras for voice-based camera tracking.

The functionality will be available in the coming future in Xilica room systems for common beamforming microphone arrays which include Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 and TeamConnect Ceiling Medium, Yamaha Adecia RM-CG, and Shure Microflex Advance MXA920.

Voice-based camera tracking is a way to make these environments more engaging by providing in-room and remote participants the same view of activities without the need for a camera operator. The solution gives the presenter more flexibility regarding room usage and presentation style while covering more than one speaker position.
