Improve Thermal Management Practices with CPI’s New Raised Floor Grommet

March 26, 2017
Raised Floor Grommet features an extra barrier to better block bypass airflow—a best practice for today’s data centers.

Chatsworth Products' (CPI) new, economical Raised Floor Grommet features a dual-layer brush with an integrated EPDM membrane that forms a superior seal around cable bundles, thereby increasing cooling efficiency by greatly reducing bypass airflow.

Simple and Economical Airflow Management

Unsealed cable openings in access floors allow valuable conditioned air to bypass equipment. Bypass airflow contributes to hot spots, cooling unit inefficiencies and increased infrastructure costs. CPI Raised Floor Grommet is a simple and economical solution that effectively contributes to good airflow management practices.

Effective Design

The split design is particularly well suited for retrofit applications and allows for easy placement and removal of grommets on cable openings in access floor tiles. Additionally, the durable sealing materials will not break, stretch, tear or deform from repeated use.

“We are excited to offer our new Raised Floor Grommet to the data center market. The additional EPDM membrane between the brush layers provides a superior seal to traditional raised floor grommets that utilize a brush-only approach,” states Duke Robertson, CPI Product Manager of Open Systems.
